South Africa has come and gone! We leave tomorrow for Kedesh orphanage in Chamba, Mozambique! I’ve completed my “month without internet” challenge. I’m back on now to update you all on my month.
I’ve gotten quite comfortable in my tent home dubbed “123 pumpkin poo way”. We’ve been living on a “farm” in our tents with two other teams, Living Liberation, and I61.

It’s been a fun and crowded month, with the 27 people all sharing 2 bathrooms (we also have 4 interns who have been working with us. They’re from Holland, Canada, Kansas, and England). Before we purchased a gas powered contraption, to cook on, we were making a fire and cooking old style.

We’ve been working with Volunteer South Africa, doing sports camps! But, as always, plans change and it turned out that the sports equipment was MIA, either destroyed, or untouchable being held under lock and key. So we improvised. We used what we did have to set up relay races, play madhouse soccer, and a lot of big group games! We always had a ton of fun, and the kids loved us! So I call that a success! Each day, as we tried to load onto our bus, the kids would swarm us and ask for a million hugs. Escaping from their embraces was always difficult for me. There were always 3 to 4 kids hanging on me, and they didn’t want to let go. Even once we were on the bus our kids would run after us waving good-bye! It was so cute how they would get so excited to see us again the next day!
We were able to show these kids the unconditional love of Jesus! Each day we prayed with them and put on some fun little skit to explain the gospel!

God was also doing some big things in my team this month and we experienced a lot of healing! It was awesome!
There’s a ton of pictures of beautiful children that I want to post, but here are a few to give you an idea!

We were only like 15 minutes from the beach and it was beautiful!
Many mornings we would be awaken by monkeys attacking (digging in our trash).
I went bungee jumping! Best experience of my life!
Yeah it was a good month!
