I'm off to another volcano land, this time it's down to Central America and a new destination for me, Nicaragua. 

I will be co-leading an Ambassador team of 12 high school girls with my soon to be partner in crime Tina, also a former world racer. I can't wait to hear more of her adventure stories cause I know she's had a bunch! 

Once we land in the capital, Managua, we will travel about 80 miles NW to Chinadega where we will be partnering with Vision Nicaragua. Our goal is to to be a blessing to the community through a medical clinic; food distribution; a special labor project in the community; youth programs; and house visits & prayer. 

Nicaragua is one of the poorest countries in the Americas :( An estimated 48% of the its population live below the poverty line, 79.9% live with less than $2 per day, and a staggering 80% of the indigenous people (who make up 5% of the population) live on less than $1 per day! 

I am praying that this time away from home will be a fruitful time of intimacy with our Savior and our hearts will be overflowing with love for His creation! 

Gone June 20th, be back in good ol' PA July 14th. I'll be celebrating my 28th year of enjoying life while away :)
