Dry toes, sore back, happy heart

Over the last 3 days I’ve shoveled, mixed, carried, wheel- barreled, and worn more cement then I’d have thought possible! And the best part is that I’ve had Soooo much fun doing it!

We’ve been pouring the floors in the Churches school building. The days have been long and and hard. By the time 9pm rolls around my mini bed matt and sleeping bag are looking very soft and inviting!
I’ve been sloshing in the cement barefoot, and my feet have dried out like crazy. My back has also discovered new muscles that are not all that happy about being put to use 🙂

I am feeling the truth of Psalms 14:23 “in all labor there is profit”. I feel fulfilled and deserving of the food that I eat and the sleep that I get. I know that the work we are doing now is laying the foundation for ministry for many years to come. It’s been a bit difficult for me to work behind the scenes and not out on the front line proclaiming the gospel. But God has been teaching me so much about what it means to be a servant and how the body of Christ works together to accomplish the Fathers will!

I do hope to learn enough Spanish to verbally share the love of Jesus with others. But in the mean time I’ll continue to bust my back serving behind the scenes, spinning kids till I almost puke, handing out gospel tracts and smiles, praying for sick folks, and growing in my personal relationship with my Savior!

A few days ago my team and I had the opportunity to visit Pablo in his home. He is a man who has been suffering painfully with Colin cancer for the past 6 months. As we entered his home I was struck with the reality of how blessed I am! Pablo and his family lived in a house slightly bigger then my bedroom back home. And they share their tiny living space with chickens and dogs. Pablo was laid up in the only bed in the house. We prayed peace, comfort, healing and relief of pain over Pablo. He was brought to tears, and very thankful for our visit! We were able to buy one of the beautiful backpacks that he makes, and I also plan to give his family some of the money you all have given me. Because of how sick he has been, Pablo is unable to work and provide for his family. Please remember him in your prayers.

Today at South Americas largest market I was able to buy lunch for the man in the picture bellow! I blelive he was blind, and he only had one leg.
